My birthday is in January, three! I love the winter, but we don't always get snow because Washington has a mild climate.

Washington state or Washington D.C.? And i thought they both got snow every year?? Man the last time it actuall snowed where i come from was the year before my brother was born. It was the Blizzard of 1985. We got up to 14 INCHES of snow!!! I know that might not sound all that impressive to some of y'all, but that's a BUTTLOAD of snow to a place where it DOESN'T snow!! EVER!!!!!!!

mine is April 4th every time its around my birthday everybody is like so thats why your named april since you were born in April and then i have to tell the story and it never snows in va beach we got about five inches this year and thats a first in ten or so years it never snows ever we got out of school for about three days but then we had to make it up by staying an extra 20 mins every day for two months we get thunder storms rain and lots of it tropical drepssions and tropical storms hurricanes and nor easters but never snow

I meant Washington state! We live near the coast, and that's why our climate is mild. We get snow about every other year.
dancer101- Why would your school administrators force you to stay for an extra twenty minutes rather than add three days on to the end of the school year? They could simply cut three days off a break or add some days on to the end of the school year. That's what our school district did when we had a two week long teacher strike.

Because nobody would show up and its easier to add twenty mintutes for two months and still get out on the 18

that doesn't make sense. at my shcool, they set aside i think it's 3 days in case of bad weather (such as snow[psh. not gonna happen] or rain[when it rains here it RAINS!! it will rain all day, really heavilly, and the rivers and creeks rise so fast!! we are actually known as the flash flood capital of the world. =)]), and if they don't get used, they just take a Monday off once a month for three months. so we still get out on the same day as scheduled. and we have had Tropical Depressions come up stong as they were in the Gulf of Mexico come up to where I live, but it was in the middle of summer, so we didn't miss any school or anything.

They set aside extra days in my school too, but sometimes they aren't enough because of numerous power outages.
