Hey girls I am staring this thread because the Autism disorder has a special place in my heart, and it has become the fastest growing disorder in the U.S. I felt the need to share my knowledge on the disorder with others. I work alot with kids the have the disorder autism. One of my friends starting Autism Buddies which pairs up a normal teen with a child who has the autism disorder. We meet at a bounce house and play with them and do what ever they want. But the most important reason I started this thread is because one of the kids I babysit for has a high functioning form of autism. He's 6 and smarter then anybody his age. At this rate it shares a ton of the same synptoms with other disorders. I know a ton more if would like to know more just pm me and I will message you back as soon as possible.  |

wow. i've heard of Autism, and i've seen pics of patients with Autism, but i'm not sure what it is, or how it affects you...

I have some kids at my school that have autism (I think, or it might be Down Syndrome...I get them confused. xP) and I feel bad for them, not only because they have the disorder, but because people laugh at them or treat them like they're stupid just because they're different from the rest of us. I think the program that you're doing is a great thing to mingle normal teens with autistic ones. Keep it up. (:

True I have been trying to get the word out to alot of people about it being being more then a disorder it affects alot of people and even those you love

Mika I see what you mean and how you could mix them up. I am freshman in high school and on b-days I sit with the special ed kids a teacher sits with them to but I felt like I could make a difference in their lifes. It was great seeing what they loved and everything. Caroline one of the girls that sits there a guy named Nick noticed her and wrote notes back and forth for awhile but after awhile she felt like her personal bubble was poped. I think must special ed kids feel that way
