Hey guys!!
I know you always see the comercials on TV, and the hour long shows about curing childhood cancer. You may think that they have plenty of funds to work towards cures...they don't. The main concerns are with breast cancer (not saying I don't care about breast cancer) but they have incredible treatments, when childhood cancer has had practically no change in years. We should support childhood cancer awareness. I'm going to give you a Website, an incredible one. You should go on there. It's
www.colesfoundation.com
There is a program called Kids Unite to Fight, where students can sign up, and during school, you can write to kids with cancer. Mainly private schools do this, but some public ones have as well.
Here's some statistics that might shock you:
-46 kids are diagnosed with cancer each school day -11 kids die each day -1 in 5 kids diagnosed will die form childhood cancer
This is a serious thing and it would really mean alot to me if you guys would check out this site, and also find ways to help...
And wear your GOLD!!!!!
In case you didn't know the childhood cancer ribbon is gold.

srocks97, yes, i agree, the statistics are incredibly shocking and overwhelming. aricherry12, yeah, it is REALLY sad. that's why i started this thread. to get the word out there. we need to help. i'm not asking you to send money or anything, but if you join on www.colesfoundation.com you are given a family who's child or children are battling cancer, and you talk to them, and you encourage them. it really brightens the kids day especially if they are like 8 or younger. they are so excited that you want to talk to them and be their friend. it is an incredible feeling when you talk to these kids. it just brightens your day more than you could have thought possible. P.S. i'm following a little girl named Abigail Rose on CaringBridges. CaringBridges is a site where families battling cancer make a profile and tell their story and everything. her site is: www.caringbridge.org/visit/abigailroseplease check it out!!!!
